I currently live in Weyburn with my wife, Kelsey, and our boy Kit. Kelsey also goes to Ignite Fitness and I cannot wait to be able to workout with my son one day. My passion for lifting all thing heavy began in high school when I was on the football team. It was a great way to hang out with friends while improving yourself. I continued this path of strength training ever since. When I immigrated to Canada in late 2017 I was unable to work so I found myself going to the gym to keep busy and maintain my fitness regime.
At the time, Ignite Fitness, then called crossfit Weyburn, was located at the gym I was attending. I would see the classes in my comings and goings so it peaked my interest. Finally I decided to try it out the summer of 2018.
I was instantly hooked. Yeah, some of the workouts are not fun, but you are doing them surrounded by fun people, and that is the difference maker. Physically challenging yourself makes you grow stronger, and that is what Ignite Fitness does daily. I always come into something different for class and it’s great. You never get bored and there is always a few laughs to be had all while making yourself a better, stronger person.
During 2021, I really wanted to do more with the sport and the gym as it is where I can be found most days. So, I spoke to Rhawnie about possibly coaching and got my CF-L1 to get myself started. I have big ideas and hope to continue my certifications in crossfit and powerlifting to improve not only my fitness, but others as well through coaching. I am very excited to bring some powerlifting classes to the gym one day. Reach out to any of us to get started! Even if it is just one class to give it a try!
