The Best Year Yet - In With The New 2019!

Have you set your goals for 2019?  It isn’t too late!  Most people start the New Year with amazing intentions to improve their health, wealth and relationships.  However, many people do not take the time to WRITE their goals down!

The most successful people in the world goal set – athletes, business people – you name the successful person, I guarantee he or she is goal setting.  Goal setting helps you make the most of your life.

There are a few things to consider BEFORE setting your new goals.

First things first.  It is equally as important to look back and reflect on your previous year before setting your new intentions.

Why should we remember our past year in a gracious state of mind?  It helps us remember the years as they fly by.  I have been deliberately writing down my yearly gratitude for 5 years now, and it is amazing how happy I feel when I read my past years gratitude.

It pats you on the back, and it puts you in a state of GRATITUDE not GUILT over what you haven’t done yet.  We have LOTS of time to accomplish what we didn’t last year, and it is important to recognize all that you did do last year.  When you set goals from that state of mind you will feel excited, empowered and passionate.

How Do We Do This?

You can use my categories, or create your own, or eliminate categories based on the life that you want to create.  Cut and paste into a word document, or use a journal.  You can do this NOW – don’t think, just write!  Write 1-2 things in each category – you can go back later and fill in the blanks.

Have fun with it!  This is a great thing to do with your partner, friends and this is great to teach your children – CELEBRATE then SET GOALS!

The categories I use for gratitude and goal setting are as follows:

1.     CrossFit/Health/Nutrition

2.     Parenting

3.     Career

4.     Financial

5.     Friends

6.     Family

7.     Travel and Fun

Once I have finished my reflection, then I go back and set specific, measurable goals in each category.  To make sure I stay on track with my goals, I revisit them every month, set smaller, achievable goals for each month, and I WRITE THEM DOWN, ideally somewhere you will see them every single day.

IMPORTANT QUESTIONS TO ASK YOURSELF

1.     Do you know what you are most passionate about?

2.     Are you making time for it every single day?  Or does “life get in the way?”

3.     Are you happy or stressed most of the time?

4.     Do you know how to orientate your life around what you love and have it WORK?

5.     Do you have and know your BIG DREAM?

When you orientate your life around what INSPIRES you, everything works, health, relationships, and money – just everything.

It is not wishful thinking to center yourself around what makes you feel alive – it is what you MUST be doing, to live a soulful, happy, and meaningful life.

ACTIONS TO TAKE

1.     Make a vision board

2.     Write down your gratitude and goals

3.     Carve out 10 minutes in your morning to create your day.  Silence or with inspirational music

b.     3 minutes on gratitude and 3 minutes on visualizing your goals and your dream life

c.      Look at your vision board

d.     Make a list of the top 3 things you want to accomplish today
